This is the official website for the Chapel of St Peter-on-the-Wall, Bradwell-on-Sea, Essex, a uniquely spiritual place that is the focus for people all over the world. The aim of the website is to make St Peter's accessible to as many people as possible. Here you can learn about the Chapel and its events and then make a visit in person (it is always open). But if you cannot get to St Peter's Chapel just yet we hope the website will give you a flavour of its wonder and its history. The annual Bradwell Pilgrimage takes place on the first Saturday of July every year. If you missed a previous Pilgrimage go to the Pilgrimage Page to see photographs of the event. If you missed some of the previous Pilgrimages you will find transcripts and pictures the events on the Pilgrimage Page. During July and August every year we hold Sunday evening services at the Chapel, details of these can be found on the Events Page. We also have Quiet Days throughout the year when you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and share the experience with others. Visit in winter when the wind is blowing hard off the North Sea. Make your own pilgrimage to the Chapel and find there, even in the depths of winter, a stillness and calm that will heal and inspire your spirit. Details of how to find the Chapel and things you should know before you arrive are on the Location Page. For the latest news from the Chapel, read the fascinating 2007 report by the Revds Margaret and Laurence Whitford in which they describe and share their thoughts about the events that took place last year. |
